the owner of the life insurance policy will have taxable income as the result of the sale of their life insurance policy.

If someone sells a life insurance policy, they may lose valuable life insurance benefits for themselves or their beneficiaries or their eligibility for certain other benefits, such as Medicaid or other government benefits or entitlements may be reduced or affected.

There may be alternatives to a client's selling their life insurance policy, including the ability to receive accelerated death benefits or policy loans such features if offered under the policy.
